Hunt IT

Guide

HUNT IT is a job search tracker that lives entirely in your browser. Log every application, set follow-up deadlines, record interview stages, write next actions, and watch your pipeline at a glance — without signing up, installing anything, or sending your data anywhere.

What It Does
Job hunting gets messy fast. You apply somewhere, forget to follow up, lose the hiring manager's name, and miss the interview prep window. Hunt IT keeps a structured record of every application in one place so nothing slips through. Every entry stores the company, position, contact details, applied date, follow-up date, status, priority, a job link, a next action, and open-ended notes. The tool highlights follow-ups that are coming due or already overdue so you always know what needs attention today.
The Panels
Add or Edit Job
Fill in the Company and Position fields — those two are required to save. The Contact field is great for recruiter names, emails, or hiring manager details you want to reference later. Set the Date Applied and a Follow Up Date. The Follow Up Date is how Hunt IT knows when to flag overdue entries with a red border and amber warnings. Choose a Status (Interested, Applied, Follow Up, Interview, Offer, Rejected, or Closed) and a Priority (High, Normal, or Low). Paste the job post URL into the Link field so you can jump back to the listing anytime. Use Next Action for the one thing you need to do next — "send thank you email" or "prep for technical round." Notes is freeform: pay expectations, schedule details, resume version used, or anything else worth remembering.
Application List
Every saved job shows here as a card with company, position, status badge, applied date, follow-up countdown, and next action. Cards with approaching follow-ups show an amber border. Overdue follow-ups turn red. Click any card to load that entry back into the form for editing. Use the Search box to filter by any field — company name, position, status, notes, or contact. Use the Status Filter dropdown to narrow to a single stage of your pipeline. Sort by Follow Up First to see what needs attention most urgently, or switch to Newest Applied, Company A-Z, or Status.
Dashboard Summary
The right panel shows four live counters: total tracked applications, follow-ups due today or overdue, active interviews, and offers received. Below the counters, the Next Actions panel surfaces your five most time-sensitive entries — sorted by follow-up date — so you always have a short to-do list without digging through cards.
Full Table View
Below the summary is a scrollable table showing every visible job with Edit, Copy, and Delete buttons on each row. Copy duplicates an entry so you can track the same position applied through different channels or reuse a template. Delete permanently removes it after confirmation. The table respects the same search and status filters as the card list.
Download It
Exports all tracked jobs as a CSV file named jobtracker_update_001.csv, then 002, 003, up to 999. The CSV includes every field — company, position, contact, dates, status, priority, next action, link, and notes — making it easy to import into a spreadsheet or back up your search history.
Status Badges
Each job card shows a colored badge based on its status. Applied is blue. Follow Up is yellow. Interview is purple. Offer is green. Rejected is red. Interested and Closed show in a neutral style. Changing a job's status in the form and saving immediately updates its badge in the list.
Status Indicators (LEDs)
Three LEDs in the header track the state of your session. The Save LED lights green when data is written to your browser's local storage. The Follow Up LED lights amber when follow-ups are due soon, or red when entries are overdue — useful at a glance before you even scroll down. The Export LED lights green when a CSV download completes.

Tips
Set a Follow Up Date on every application — even a loose one like two weeks out. That's how Hunt IT keeps your follow-up LED honest and surfaces overdue items automatically.
Use the Next Action field like a micro to-do. One specific thing: "email recruiter by Thursday," "submit portfolio link," or "confirm interview time zone." That field feeds the dashboard's Next Actions panel.
Sort by Follow Up First when you sit down each morning. The most time-sensitive entries rise to the top so you know exactly what to do today without reading every card.
Use the Notes field generously. Record the resume version you sent, the pay range you discussed, questions they asked in the interview, or anything that would be useful if you get a callback two weeks later and can't remember the details.
Download It regularly. The CSV export is your backup. If you clear browser storage or switch devices, the CSV is the only way to restore your data. Export after every session where you added or updated entries.
Use the Copy button in the table to duplicate a job when you're applying to the same company through a different recruiter or reapplying to a new posting. Just update the position and reset the dates.
